Seems like the best place to start is with an introduction.
I am Lea Appleton and I am a Wellbeing Coach. I've been doing this for a while in a number of unofficial capacities--as a friend, a parent, a spouse, and quite frankly as myself, when I navigated my own need to find balance in life, take better care of my physical and mental health, and make some tough choices for a mid-life career pivot. I focussed on wellbeing more formally in my years as a dean in student and community life and later in academic affairs, where I supported lots of graduate students in being healthier and happier while they balanced jobs and school and families and more. My real concern was the wellbeing and flourishing of the students.
And now as a Certified Coach (ACC), I work with individuals and small groups of people on improving their wellbeing, and it's just in service to that (since I think mental, emotional, spiritual, physical, & financial health and happiness are important just because), but also so people can improve their work performance, be nicer to be around, find more joy and calm in their daily lives, avoid burnout, and all sorts of other super important things that come from improving wellbeing. Being a happier, healthier human is enough, though. Just that.
